Membranes in any membrane separation system are the heart of the water treatment plants and the process. Suspended solids, microorganisms and mineral scale can foul membrane elements. These deposits can cause loss in output and/or rejection levels and reduce total system performance.
Fouling is attributed to scaling due to mineral deposits, fouling of suspended solids, and microbial fouling or development of biofilm due to growth of bacteria in the system.
The performance of an RO plant can be improved by good pre-treatment to remove suspended solids, colloidal matter and other impurities & chemical solutions.
Our technical services include
Our products have been specifically developed for all types of systems and feed water quality and offer significant cost, safety and operational flexibility and benefits. The range comprises of:
Antiscalant
Based on the solubility of some salts, these tend to deposit on membranes when water passes through the membrane surface. These salts precipitate on the surface causing fouling and hence affect output.
Our range of high performance antiscalants have been specifically developed to meet the following criteria
Membrane Cleaners
A corrective and preventive membrane program of an RO plant must use high performance membrane cleaners. Usually membrane cleaning is implemented when operating parameters, flux, conductivity or ∆P (differential pressure) change siginificantly. It is advisable to clean at an early stage of fouling because foulants may be difficult to clean later or the damage may be permanent to the membrane.
Our range of cleaners include
Biocides
Non-oxidizing biocides are used either in a cleaning program or during normal operation of an RO plant. Dosage typically depends on extent of micro fouling as well as the frequency of membrane cleaning and equipment downtime.
Our Bioguard range of biocides are specifically formulated and compatible with all types of membranes
