Glaycol Based Antifreeze

Glycol based antifreeze

Mono Ethylene Glycol

Mono Ethylene Glycol/ Ethylene Glycol  is a clear, colourless, odourless, slightly viscous liquid. It is miscible with water, alcohol, and many organic compounds. It is the most important of the commercially available ethylene glycols as it has many industrial applications. Mono Ethylene Glycol is produced by the oxidation of ethylene at a high temperature in the presence of a silver oxide catalyst. The ethylene oxide is then hydrated to yield mono ethylene glycol with di and tri ethylene glycols as co-products.

Mono Ethylene Glycol is a vital ingredient in the production of polyester fibers, films, and resins, one of which is polyethylene terephthalate (PET). PET is used for making of plastic bottles. Ethylene Glycol has renowned antifreeze applications, being a major component in the manufacture of antifreeze, coolants, and de-icing liquids. Humectant properties make it ideal for use in the fiber treatment of textiles, pulp and paper industry, in adhesives, inks, and cellophane. It is also a used as a dehydration agent in natural gas pipelines, inhibiting the formation of natural gas clathrates before being recovered from the gas and reused.

Our range includes:

  • Mono Ethylene Glycol
  • Inhibited Mono Ethylene Glycol
  • Mono Ethylene Glycol Corrosion Inhibitor

Glycol based antifreeze

Propylene Glycol

Propylene glycol is used as an organic solvent and diluent in pharmaceuticals and many other industrial applications.

Industrial propylene glycol is used as a heat transfer medium, to control viscosity, to dissolve active agents or protect against corrosion and pressure burst. It is also used as raw material for the production of unsaturated polyester resins. By emulsifying active ingredients, which otherwise would not mix, propylene glycol helps to create a stable homogeneous fluid allowing for the intended final product, such as a face cream or shampoo to perform its function.

With its unique combination of properties propylene glycol supports many uses. It serves as a solvent; Connects and stabilizes insoluble fluids (emulsifier); Helps to bind and transport other substances (excipient); Holds and dissolves active ingredients equally in a medium; Attracts/holds water/moisture (hygroscopic); Reduces freezing point, increases boiling point; Chemically inert.

We have food grade range of:

  • Propylene Glycol
  • Inhibited Propylene Glycol
  • Propylene Glycol Corrosion Inhibitor
